Scared of Change

Every time change 

Is around the corner I get scared.

Things have been the same for so long

What if things are different in such a way

That I lose myself?

What if I mourn the “once was”,

Or want to die because of what is?

What if things don’t work out?

But then

Like nothing happened

Suddenly it’s three years later

Suddenly it’s seven years later

Suddenly there is a new “once was”

That I don’t want to lose.

When I adopted Ursa I worried things would change for the worse for some reason. They only changed for the best, I can't imagine my life without her.
