I find myself online:
“What a cool life they live!”
Wow, it must be amazing to wake up in a hammock every day and step outside into the misty mountain air. Doing yoga on top of a cliff while most of us are at work.
And you know it’s probably pretty awesome to live in an RV in the middle of the desert, getting to know the land and yourself at your own pace. Living a Nomad Pinterest lifestyle that so many only dream of.
I often think how incredible it must be to live in a cozy LA apartment, working on a TV set or something, maybe you see celebs from time to time! Maybe you have a cute group of friends that you have brunch with every Sunday, and rollerblade down the pier when you have free time with the salty wind blowing your hair.
And I find it so interesting that some people can live on the beach and wake up at noon and eat at fancy restaurants every single night. They take their expensive cars to the most exclusive clubs where they stay up until the ungodly hours of the night.
People playing video games to make a living, traveling to a new destination every month, creating a super successful business from something they love, living their summer at music festivals. People going back to school to get their master’s degree, waking up at the crack of dawn to tend to their animals, standing up in front of an audience telling jokes, doing whatever they want because they don’t have a full time job or any responsibilities!
Honestly, it’s all so cool to me. No shade. No sarcasm. Sometimes I’m jealous of the freedom, fun, or love I notice others experiencing. Their lives are so wonderful. Their lives are so different.
That’s just it though. They are just different, not better.
And someone is probably looking at my life the same way:
God I am so lucky to feel so secure in my relationship. I own a house, my care is paid off, and I have a job I don’t hate. I am never bored and I never have to wonder if I am loved. My brother got to move states away and attend school for something he's loved his entire life, but I got the rewarding experience of raising and training two dogs with the love of my life. While he lives out one of my dreams, I'm living out several of my others.
My life is pretty incredible. And you know what, so is yours. If you know me, or even if you don’t, I’ve probably fantasized about your badass life while creeping on your socials.
We all lack things and chances that others have, but that doesn’t make their lives better, safer, more rich.
Today
I encourage you to appreciate where you're at, and who you are. We all only have one chance to do this, that doesn’t allow us to do everything under the moon. Sometimes we have to give up a handful of our dreams to receive one really good go at it. We can’t all do everything, experience everything. Our journey is our own, it’s beautiful. Someone is out there wondering what it’s like to be you because your path is different than theirs.
